Road Safety: Bleeding Billboard

I agree with some of the people that think its a good message... but also horrible message because that's creepy enough to distract drivers.

The PUMA Index

Sexy stuff...Puma has created a great application to help monitor your stock portfolio. They have created a stock ticker that has models removing their clothes as the market dips, and putting it back on as it raises. Each model is decked out in Puma from head to toe. Obviously they are banking on people wanting to see their models in their nickers, but its a neat approach at creating something thats functional and fun. There are different models for the different markets around the globe with male and female varieties for each. Overall they have taken something that is normally boring, bland and, riddled with boring financial data, and have turned it into models taking off their clothes (Puma clothes), Brilliant. Love the fact that it correlates with real data, making it a viable stock ticker for those that actually like nudity with their finances in the morning.

Halo 3: ODST Live Action Trailer "We Are ODST"

This is pretty cool. It seems to me that video games are now more than ever integrating short films in their advertising. This has become an art form that captures and displays the true experience of playing the game. Halo and Gears of war have mastered this advertising in so far in my opinion has mastered this art.

The Official Level 26 Trailer

CSI creator Anthony Zuiker is trying to get deeper under your skin. The father of the forensics franchise is attempting to bring new life and dimension to the publishing world with the "digi-novel" Level 26, a multiplatform story that begins with a book and continues onto the web.

"I wanted to do CSI on cocaine," Zuiker says in the story's behind the scenes video. The tale follows FBI agent Steve Dark and his pursuit of Sqweegel, a killer who could have Hannibal Lechter for lunch. As the story goes, law officials classify murderers on 25 levels, but this fiend surpasses them all, having burned, strangled, shot, tortured, raped, maimed more than 35 people in 23 years, and in six different countries. And he happens to be a creepy contortionist too.

Readers take in the book (the first of a trilogy) 20 pages at a time, after which they're prompted to go to level26.com and input pass codes to view what Zuiker calls "cyber bridges," film clips that continue and enhance the narrative. The site also serves as a platform for readers to share in the experience, create profiles, contribute their own content—basically, a "haven for people who want to buy into the mythology of Level 26," says Zuiker.

Zuiker co-wrote the book with comic book and crime writer Duane Swierczynski and enlisted EQAL, the team behind "lonelygirl15," to create the Level 26 site. Marc Ecko created illustrations for the novel, which is published under the Penguin imprint Dutton.

Eyewriter: An Artistic Tool For Individuals With AL

Eyewriter: An Artistic Tool For Individuals With ALS

Tony Quan (aka TEMPTONE) is an LA based graffiti writer, publisher and activist who was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a neurodegenerative disorder) in 2003. Despite the fact that the disease has left him nearly paralyzed, his passion to create and write graffiti never left him.

The collaborative efforts of the Graffiti Research Lab, Free Art+ Technology,Open Frameworks, and The Ebeling Group- organizations specializing in various aspects of open source computing, creativity and production- created the EyeWriter - a low cost software/eye-tracking tool that allows those paralyzed from ALS to write using only their eyes.

Eyewriter: An Artistic Tool For Individuals With ALS

The first prototype of the EyeWriter was made using a combination of items from Venice Beach, CA electronics and hardware stores and open source set of C++ libraries for creative coding from openFrameworks.

This resulted in a successful demonstration on April 12, as TEMPT was able to draw his tag for the first time in over 5 years. It was sent in real time and projected on a wall that he was able to see from a window by his bed in the hospital.

The second phase of the project is due to be completed this month, and will involve an online publication of DIY instructions, open source software and video documentation of the creation of the second version.
